The Finals afternoon provided high quality hard fought indoor cricket matches. In the first semi-final Hatherley posted 107 for 5 with Mark Nally holding it together with 39no.ably assisted by Andrew Soma who was run out for 36. In reply Ashton-u-Hill pushed them all the way and also losing 5 wickets they needed 3 runs on the last ball of the match to force a bowl-out but in high drama their batsman was run out leaving them all out for 104.
In the second game outsiders Whitminster pushed Stroud all the way despite Stroud amassing 146 for 4 with Louis Gegg 52no having been unusually retired twice. When Whitminster batted the Cave Brothers Richard 41 and Dave 29 set the pace but both were part of five run outs as the pressure told, the innings ending on 127.
So to the Final where a new ball slowed the score rate. Stroud batted first and reached 96 for 3 Louis Gegg 26no and Keith Daniels 20 the top scorers. Hatherley started steadily with the first three batsmen making top scores, Mark Nally 19, Sam Coote 29 and Richard Baker 27no. They lost two wickets in the penultimate over but also scored ten runs leaving them to stroke the four needed to win off the last six balls.
